Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a custom artwork take?

Timeline varies depending on the complexity of the piece and Susan's current workload. A simple pet portrait may take 3–4 weeks, while a larger or more complex piece can take 6–8 weeks or more. Susan will discuss your timeline during your initial conversation and will always be upfront about her availability.

Do you require a deposit?

Yes. Susan requires a 50% deposit upon agreement to begin work. This reserves your spot and ensures she can dedicate focused time to your piece. The remaining balance is due when the artwork is complete, before delivery or shipping.

Can I provide reference photos?

Yes, and for pet portraits in particular, good reference photos are essential! You can upload a photo directly in the request form above. Multiple photos from different angles are always helpful. Feel free to email additional images to Susan after submitting. The better the reference, the more lifelike and accurate your artwork will be.

Do you ship artwork?

Yes, Susan ships throughout the United States. Artwork is carefully packaged to ensure safe arrival. Shipping costs are calculated based on the size and weight of the piece and will be discussed as part of your agreement with Susan. Local pickup is also available and always welcome!

What sizes are available?

Susan works in a wide range of sizes, from small 5" × 7" pieces to large custom works up to 24" × 36" and beyond. She's happy to discuss what size works best for your space and budget.

Can I request a memorial portrait of a pet who has passed?

Yes, memorial pet portraits are among Susan's most meaningful work. She handles them with great care and sensitivity, working from your photos to create a lasting tribute to an animal you love. Please share as many reference photos as you have so she can capture your pet's unique personality.
